deeper
At Luke252.com we like to get more from our Bible stories. Instead of simply reading about John the Baptist’s snack of locusts and honey we decided to create a version of that tasty treat for ourselves.
If you’ve been itching for a place to go deeper…this is it. Check with your parents for the OK, and then dig deeper into the stories of the Bible and experience them in entirely new ways. Of course, we’re not saying that it’s easy to create and eat a moldy bread s’more, but, we bet you won’t forget the experience or the story that goes along with it!

Spewing Fire Volcano
Turn up the heat 2:52 style with this explosive extravaganza. There’s nothing like going out with a bang! HINT: Experimenting with this activity outside will certainly cut down on clean-up time.
Difficulty:
2
Ingredients:
Roll of Mentos® candies
2-liter bottle of diet soda
Index card
1 sheet of paper
1 mop for cleanup
Directions:
1. First, gather your supplies. You can substitute another candy for the Mentos, such as M&Ms® or Skittles®, but ideally you want candies that stack into a neat column with minimal space between them, have a chalky consistency, and barely fit through the mouth of a 2-liter bottle.
2. First, you need to stack the candies. You can roll a sheet of paper into a tube just barely wide enough for a stack of candies.
3. Place an index card over the opening of the tube or end of the paper tube to hold the candies in the container. Invert the test tube.
4. Open your full 2-liter bottle of diet soda. The eruption happens very quickly, so set things up: you want to line up the open bottle, index card, and roll of candies so that as soon as you remove the index card, the candies will drop smoothly into the bottle.
5. When you're ready, do it! You can repeat the eruption with the same bottle and another stack of candies. Have fun!
