deeper

At Luke252.com we like to get more from our Bible stories. Instead of simply reading about John the Baptist’s snack of locusts and honey we decided to create a version of that tasty treat for ourselves.

If you’ve been itching for a place to go deeper…this is it. Check with your parents for the OK, and then dig deeper into the stories of the Bible and experience them in entirely new ways. Of course, we’re not saying that it’s easy to create and eat a moldy bread s’more, but, we bet you won’t forget the experience or the story that goes along with it!

Build a Snake

Just what you’ve always wanted … a nice cuddly pet of your own. Did you know that snakes and serpents slither their way into the Scripture fifty-six times?

Difficulty:

3

Ingredients:

25 bottle caps from soft drink bottles
2 corks
24 in. of red plastic cord
Green spray paint
Optional wiggly eyes
Optional two dry beans

Directions:

1. Make a snake with plastic bottle caps from soft drink products and two corks for the head and tail. Drill a hole in the center of each cap and the corks.

2. String red plastic cord through one small cork, then 25 plastic caps per snake, and end with the other small cork. Tie off at the tail end. Leave some of the cord hanging out for the tongue on the other end.

3. Spray paint the snake green.

4. Once the paint is dry you can add wiggly eyes.
Optional: If you want your snake to rattle, assemble the first two caps open side to open side and put a couple of beans in it, then hot glue them together.
