deeper

At Luke252.com we like to get more from our Bible stories. Instead of simply reading about John the Baptist’s snack of locusts and honey we decided to create a version of that tasty treat for ourselves.

If you’ve been itching for a place to go deeper…this is it. Check with your parents for the OK, and then dig deeper into the stories of the Bible and experience them in entirely new ways. Of course, we’re not saying that it’s easy to create and eat a moldy bread s’more, but, we bet you won’t forget the experience or the story that goes along with it!

Chocolate Insect Crunch

Treat your guests to a sweet they will never forget, and don’t forget that in biblical times bugs were actually on the menu. The Lord told Moses and Aaron, “All flying insects that walk on all fours are to be detestable to you. There are, however, some winged creatures that walk on all fours that you may eat … you may eat any kind of locust, katydid, cricket or grasshopper” (Leviticus 11:20-22).

Difficulty:

1

Ingredients:

1 bag of semisweet chocolate chips
1 can of chow mein noodles
1 cup of salted peanuts

Directions:

2. Melt chocolate. Remove from heat. Add the noodles and peanuts to the chocolate then stir and fold the mixture until the noodles are well coated.

3. Drop teaspoonfuls onto the pan with the waxed paper. Place in the refrigerator for about 8 hours or until you feel like eating them.
